Of course, we are biased, but we also don't drink anything or sell anything that isn't of the highest quality. Let's face it; we're coffee snobs and proud of it.
What we love about it is its milk chocolate and sweet toffee notes. It's an easy-to-drink cold brew. We experimented with it black, and it's delicious. We've added creamer and sugar, and that is also delicious. We've experimented with a few cold brew drink variations, which we'll share in an upcoming post.
This summer, we've been sampling our cold brew to our customers and prospective customers. We've been trying different ratios of grounds to water and different brewing times and have agreed on which ratio and how long to brew is best.
We found the happy brew time for Obulu Cold Brew is 18-19 hours of refrigeration. Mix 1.5 cups of coarse ground Obulu Cold Brew with 6 cups of filtered water and store in the refrigerator. We recommend swirling the grounds in the cold brewer every few hours so that the water saturates all the grounds. You'll want to invest in a good cold brew maker to make a nice cold brew. After much research, we found one that is both economical and practical. We recommend the Takeya cold brew 2qt. With the 2qt, you can make enough cold brew to last 1-2 weeks.
Once the Cold Brew is finished brewing, take out the filter and let it drain in a separate container. Once it finishes draining, you'll receive a highly concentrated coffee to pour back into the cold brew or use for something else.
